Simply put: Good tools for a cheap price. You want twice the quality, twice the run time? You would pay more than twice this price to get it, period. Tip: Charge ALL cordless tool batteries for an extended period for their first charge. I recommend overnight. Why? If your batteries do not require this, it definitely will not hurt them. If your batteries (like the ones included in this kit) require this extended charge, then you could ruin them or seriously reduce battery capacity by NOT charging them for an extended time period before the first use. Anybody complaining about [any] battery life right out of the package is either A. Not reading the instructions for their battery packs B. Not using their tools &/or batteries properly C. Not being fully honest or D. Any combination of the previous 3 choices. If you are a home user and your tools will rarely leave your home, this kit is a good value. The last reason to recommend this tool kit is because The Home Depot sells it and The Home Depot owns a majority share in the company TTI, who makes Ryobi. If you have a problem with a Ryobi tool, take it back to The Home Depot and exchange it.

I purchased this set from Home Depot for $99. The set came with a drill, circular saw, 2 batteries (18 volt), 1 charger, and a bag. I then purchased the flashlight separately.

The drill is as good of one as I have ever had. It out performs my old Black & Decker Firestorm. Mine will handle 3" screws with no problem and on high speed will pull them out in a flash. The battery life on the drill is acceptable and with 2 batteries more than I have ever needed.

The saw is not as good as the drill. It is a nice garage saw. Mine will cut through 2 x 6s or 3/4 boards stacked 2 high. It does lack a little in the torque range but gets the job done. Now, to be honest, mine goes through battery life quickly. But you can be charging one battery while using the other. They charge in about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

The bag is phenomenal. It opens like the old "doctors" bag forming a square opening. They make good gym bags.

As I said I purchased a flashlight separately. It is about the same as a small motorcycle headlight, give or take. I can not tell you how long it last on a battery charge because mine has never run dry. It's worth the $12 bucks.

All in all my set has worked well and has not disappointed me. For another $40 you could pick up a couple of extra batteries. I have never needed more than the 2 that came with my set though.

I have had this equipment for many years. It works great. The only problem I had was that after about a year, the batteries would not hold a charge for even a few days, so I had to make sure the batteries were charged right before I used the drill or saw. But the drill and saw both work work fine and very well. I bought the more expensive lithium batteries to replace mine and they worked better but one of those two batteries died within 6 months. That was kind of annoying.

I have used more expensive equipment, and it did feel like higher quality tools, and the batteries charged quicker and lasted longer, but for the price, the Ryobi stuff is a good deal. My dad bought Dewalt equipment at about the same time I bought my Ryobi and his original batteries are still good. So, if I have to keep buying batteries, I will someday pay as much as if I had bought the Dewalt tools.

Anyway, this stuff is good, just not as good as more expensive stuff.

The price here, though, is way too much. You can buy these tools MUCH cheaper at Home Depot or similar.
